In the same time with the standard E-CLASS variants: sedan, coupe and convertible, Mercedes will also be unveiling the most powerful version of the lineup: the E63 AMG. As the previous spy shots have revealed, the new E63 AMG is the first model to feature the new AMG design language and it also received an improved version of its AMG 5.5-liter V8 bi-turbo engine.
Updated: Mercedes has unveiled at the 2013 New York International Auto Show the 2014 E63 AMG S 4MATIC Wagon and all of its performance credentials. We are still awaiting details on the S version of the sedan. Check out the performance of the E63 AMG S 4MATIC after the jump.
The new Mercedes E63 AMG sports sedan is the first model to feature the new AMG design language. This means we will see a new AMG "twin blade" radiator grille in silver chrome, a new AMG front apron with new, three-dimensional air deflector spans. The model has also received a new "A-wing" offered in the same color as the body and featuring a trim strip in silver chrome.
Three larger cooling intakes and the new side air intakes will provide better cooling for the V-8 beast found under the hood. The car’s aerodynamics are improved by the addition of a new front splitter and a black rear diffuser with pronounced fins.
When viewed from the side, the new E63 AMG features a combination of convex and concave surfaces, plus an elegant "V8 Biturbo" logo placed on the new distinctive flared wings.
The model will be offered with a standard set of 10-spoke AMG light-alloy wheels painted in titanium grey and featuring a high-sheen finish.
Just like all the other AMG models, the new E63 AMG combines the highest-quality materials with excellent workmanship and exclusivity. The model comes equipped with AMG sport seats, an AMG performance steering wheel offered in black Nappa leather, AMG door sill panels with white LED illumination, an electrically operated rear roller blind (Saloon only) and the anti-theft protection package.
